# CURRICULUM.md — The Day-by-Day Fluency Map

> **6-month paced · 180 days · ~2 days per bundle · 90 bundles · Sunday
> integration days.** This is the learner's checklist and progress tracker for
> the whole `english/` fluency program. Tick a box when you can **produce** the
> bundle's chunks (say them or write them), not merely recognize them.

## How to read this

Each bundle spans **2 days**. The split keeps the daily dose to ~20 min and
forces **output every day** (you only "know" what you can say or write).

| **Day 2 — Output** | Produce + Review | **Produce**: speak a variant (record yourself) *or* write 3–5 sentences using the chunks (~8 min). Then self-review against the model answer / cheat sheet. |

> A bundle is "done" (tick the box) only after **Day 2 production** — not after
> reading. Reading is necessary; it is not fluency.

### Daily ritual reminder (~20–25 min total)

> **READ · 5 min** — the bundle guide.
> **SHADOW · 7 min** — drill the key chunks + dialog aloud.
> **PRODUCE · 8 min** — speak (record a variant) **or** write (3–5 sentences).

> **Every 7th day = integration day** — no new bundle; review the week and do

### Accent note

Every chunk in every bundle is tagged **US** or **UK** (and occasionally both).
IPA is pulled from the matching variety's dictionary (Cambridge / Oxford /
Merriam-Webster). Pick **one** variety as your default and stay consistent — but
train your ear on both, because you will hear both in real conversation.

## Weekly cadence — integration days

The 180 days are not 180 new things. **Every 7th day is an integration day** with
**no new bundle**:

- **Review** the week's bundles (re-shadow the chunks that felt slow).
- **Record one ~10-minute conversation simulation** that combines the week's
  functions into a single, unscripted flow (both roles, or with a partner).
- Listen back, note one thing to drill next week.

This is where isolated chunks become **fluency** — the ability to chain speech
acts in real time. Do not skip integration days to "go faster"; they are the
whole point.

## How to use this tracker

1. **Open the dashboard** ([`index.html`](./index.html)) and pick today's bundle,
   or follow this file in order.
2. **Day 1:** READ the guide + SHADOW the chunks/dialog (see the daily ritual box).
3. **Day 2:** PRODUCE (speak or write) + self-review. If you can produce the
   chunks without the model, **tick the box** here and mark the bundle finished
   in the player (it syncs via shared `localStorage`).
4. **Every 7th day:** integration day — no new box to tick; record the simulation.
5. **Phase end:** skim the phase's boxes; re-open any you ticked but feel shaky on.

> bundle's worker has produced the triple (`{name}_corpus.md` · `{NAME}.md` ·
